You can drop off tomorrow morning at 8:00am outside the main office or between 1:30-2:30 in the library.

Please email Patty O’Connell or Janet Trzaska to confirm.

On behalf of the PTA and teachers, thank you!

Note from Clinton Art Teacher, Christine Tischio

Posted October 12th, 2011 by PTA

Hello Clinton families!

For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Miss Tischio, I am the art teacher at Clinton Elementary! I hope that you are all having as great a start to our school year as I am! I am so excited to announce that this week I will begin uploading our Clinton kids’ masterpieces onto Artsonia, an online art gallery website. In an attempt to “go green” and save paper, I’ve decided to send an electronic version of my normal handout.

Many of you have already signed up to participate in Artsonia in past years, in which case you do not need to reply to this email; your child will keep the same screenname and you will keep the same parent log in. Please keep an eye out for new artwork by the end of the week!

If you are not sure if you’ve signed up or have not registered your child (entered a security key code and your email address) please check the roster for your child’s name. If his/her name is on the list but you have not registered, please email me back and I will send you your security key.

For those of you that are new to Artsonia, I encourage you to check it out! www.Artsonia.com is a wonderful site that allows art teachers to upload student artwork and share it with the world through an online art museum. How does it work, you ask? I’ll start by photographing your child’s artwork (with your permission, of course!). Artsonia then supplies each student with a ScreenName, which is a combination of the student’s initials and randomly selected numbers. Once on the website, the artwork is categorized by project title, grade and school. After your child’s first project is uploaded onto the site, I will print out (or better yet, email you) the security key so you can register. This will allow you to view/edit comments left on your child’s page and receive notifications about any contests, prizes or awards that your child may be eligible for. The last step is to spread the word! Tell your family and friends to register to help your little artist earn awards, and honors such as the Portfolio Award, Popularity Award, Rave Reviews and the Hall of Fame Award.

If you would like to sign your child up for Artsonia, please email me at ctischio@somsd.k12.nj.us with the following information:

*Please choose one*

____ Yes, please display ALL of my child’s artwork on Artsonia.com! I understand that some projects may have my child’s name on it.

____ Yes, please only display my child’s artwork that DOES NOT have his/her name on it.

My child’s name is _______________________Grade/Teacher _________________________

Parent/Guardian’s name and email _______________________________________________

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT! :)

Library Volunteers Needed

Posted September 14th, 2010 by PTA

The Clinton School library benefits greatly from the support of parent
volunteers. If you are available to work a volunteer shift in our
wonderful library, with our wonderful librarian Ms. Jennifer Latimer,
please let us know.

Mrs. Latimer is asking for a commitment of every other week or weekly,
for 2 hours if possible.

If you’d like your volunteer time to coincide with your child’s weekly
school library time, that is often a possibility.

For more information or to volunteer, please contact Amy Janay at:
amyjanay@gmail.com
or (973) 544-6972

Thanks so much for your consideration.
