Important Email From Clinton Student Theater About Scheduling

Posted December 5th, 2011 by PTA

Dear Parents,

Hopefully everyone has turned in the registration forms for this year’s All-School Revue which will be presented on March 23 and 24, 2012. (If you haven’t, please get it in ASAP!) We have had such an overwhelming response from our student body and know this will be our best show yet! Rehearsals for performers begin in January and we are starting to put together the groups. Understandably many students prefer to be placed in one of the after-school rehearsals but it is becoming clear that those groups will end up quite large. We want to accomodate everyone to the best of our ability, but it would help us keep all the groups a manageable size if we had more students who could rehearse on Saturdays. We also have the option of adding a Thursday evening rehearsal at 7PM if there is enough interest.

If you did not mark Saturday on your registration form but your child is willing to rehearse during one of those time slots, or if your child can rehearse Thursday evenings from 7-8PM, please get in contact with Kris Stringer as soon as possible at kristringer@yahoo.com or 973-313-1970. The Saturday rehearsals are at 9AM, 10AM, 11AM and noon are will be held at the Baird Center in South Orange. The Thursday evening rehearsals will be at the school.

We are so excited to work with everyone and we want to make everyone’s experience the best it can be.

Thank you very much for your support.

“A Night at the Movies”: Important Fundraising Efforts

Posted March 24th, 2011 by PTA

For the Friday and Saturday performances, we will be selling flowers, Clinton School shirts and NEW bumper magnets for just $5.

After each of the Saturday shows, the PTA and local Japanese families will be fundraising to aid the relief efforts in Japan. Based on the ancient story, which states that anyone who makes 1000 origami paper cranes will be granted their wish, Maplewood parent, Mihori Tada has been folding paper cranes on behalf of Clinton and our wish for the people of Japan.

On Saturday, for just $1, you can write your name on a paper crane.
The cranes will be displayed at Clinton School in May for Asian Heritage Month, then they will be sent to an elementary school in Japan.

Paper cranes, as well as water bottles, juice boxes and baked treats will be available after each of the Saturday performances, with 100% of the proceeds going towards earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan.

Thank you for supporting Clinton School.

One More Note About A Night at the Movies/Dress Rehearsal Viewing

Posted March 23rd, 2011 by PTA

If you can’t make it to the actual show, or you have family and
friends who weren’t able to get reservations, or younger siblings who
might have trouble sitting through the actual performances, Thursday
afternoon’s dress rehearsal will have an audience and you should feel
free to come and watch that day.

Plan on arriving around 2:45 if you’d like to watch the dress
rehearsal. The performers will be in their green rooms during the
dress rehearsal so there will be many open seats in the auditorium.

A Night at the Movies/SOLD OUT!

Posted March 23rd, 2011 by PTA

All 3 performances of the Clinton School all school musical are now
SOLD OUT!!!

If you have reservations you will not be using, please contact Kate
Shamburg at kashamburg@gmail.com so we can get those seats to people
on our waiting list.

The directors, performers, backstage crew, and show organizers have
been working extremely hard and based on what we’ve seen at tech
rehearsals, it is going to be the best Clinton show ever.

Please contact your child’s directors to see how you can help over the
weekend…green room duty, providing snacks, etc.

See you at the movies!
