Donate soccer jerseys

Posted November 12th, 2009 by PTA

With the close of the soccer seasons, please consider donating your child’s Kickers/Cougar/South Mountain uniform to Jerseys from Jersey. We will combine your uniform with others in order to send two full team sets and a soccer ball to children in orphanages and schools in developing nations.

There are 4 convenient drop-off locations around our towns until December:
– Clinton School entry
– Kari’s Caf√©
– 3R Living
– Mia Cose Bella

Worn-jeans drive a success!

Posted June 24th, 2009 by PTA

We just wanted to let you know that our denim drive was a huge success. 200 pieces of denim were collected (100 more than we’d hoped)!

The denim will be recycled into environmentally friendly cotton insulation and donated to Habit for Humanity affiliates to build houses in places that have been damaged by hurricanes, tornadoes, and other natural disasters. We’ve collected enough denim to insulate half of a house.

We have also brought National Geographic Kids one step closer to breaking the record they were shooting for:

Thanks to Elizabeth King and Sophie for sponsoring this wonderful green initiative, to all of you for donating the denim, and to our soon-to-be-middle-schoolers Sophie, Aly, Lexie, Patty, and Allie for decorating the box and helping transport the denim to the car.

Donate your old jeans to the Clinton School Denim Drive

Posted May 29th, 2009 by PTA

Clinton School wants to help National Geographic Kids set a Guinness
World Record for the world’s largest collection of clothes to recycle!

Bring us all your old jeans that are worn out or don’t fit and that
are clogging up your (and your kids’) closets. The denim will be
recycled into environmentally friendly cotton insulation and donated
to Habit for Humanity affiliates to build houses in places that have
been damaged by hurricanes, tornadoes, and other natural disasters.

Any color, size or type of denim garment is welcome but it must be
used!

A collection box will be available in the front entrance of the school
starting Monday June 1.

Please help us support yet another wonderful recycling opportunity!!!

Memorial Day: March with the Clinton Float!

Posted May 22nd, 2009 by PTA

Calling all students, parents, and teachers! Please plan to march in the parade, Monday, May 25. We will assemble at the Columbia High School Student Parking Lot at 8:15 AM. Every child must be accompanied by an adult. One adult can take responsibility for more than one child, but children may NOT be dropped off alone at the point of assembly.

Every child is encouraged to march in costume, either as an item that Clinton recycles (ink cartridge, cell phone, juice pouch, etc.), or in a costume made of recycled materials. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative costumes!

If you cannot march in costume, please wear a Clinton School shirt, or a red shirt.
