Teacher Appreciation Lunch, Float, and 4th Gr Artist-in-Residence

Posted May 6th, 2013 by PTA

- Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, this Wednesday, May 8th:
In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week (May 6-10), the PTA will host our annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon in the Clinton School Library.

Would you be willing to help by preparing a dish or donating money for supplies? All kinds of dishes are welcome, from appetizers to desserts to beverages. Monetary donations can be sent to school in care of the PTA. Please mark “for teacher luncheon.” Please contact Patty O’Connell or Janet Trzaska and let us know what you will be bringing.

When you reply, please be sure to include your name and email address so we can contact you about delivery instructions for that day. Also, let us know if you are free to volunteer to help set up and clean up the lunch that day (from approximately 1:30 until 4:30). Thanks in advance for your help!

- Memorial Day Float:
Do you have a truck with a hitch, or know someone who does? We are looking for someone to pull the Clinton Elementary School float in this year’s Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27. This could be your big chance to help our school shine! For more information, please contact Jackie Lahey at 973-313-9757.

- 4th Grade Artist-in Residence Gallery Show, this Friday at 8:15-9:30 am:
Mark your calendars for Friday, May 10 right after drop off at Clinton School. Our PTA artist-in-residence program for 4th graders this year will conclude with a gallery show.

4th grade artists will show off their pots and masks created this spring with visiting artist Cliff Mendelson and Clinton art teacher Christine Tischio.

Clinton School Gymnasium (enter through main door and we’ll sign you in.) Light refreshments will be served as we invite you to stroll the gallery and talk to our artists, hearing more about their beautiful pieces.

There’s another busy week planned at Clinton this week. We’ve got the Scholastic Book Fair all week, PTA meeting with SOMS principal on Thursday, LocoMania! and the yearly rainbow picture on Friday, and Memorial Day Parde float building on Saturday!

Thanks to everyone who came to enjoy the fair on Saturday and all those wonderful volunteers who made it possible! Everyone had such a good time. Share your photos in our Flickr group.

Enjoy!
