Community Building Project Exhibit

Posted January 31st, 2012 by PTA

Don’t miss this wonderful exhibit on Sunday, February 5th. The Community Building Project is the result of a collaboration between five local architects and students in five elementary school in South Orange Maplewood who took their After School Enrichment architecture class. The Clinton architect is Jung Lee Masters, former PTA President. The students’ work is impressive so check it out on Sunday.

After School Enrichment Info for Tomorrow 10/6

Posted October 5th, 2011 by PTA

Tomorrow October 6th is the first day of the Clinton PTA After School Enrichment Program. Please remind your child in the morning that they will be going directly to the gym at dismissal.

If your child attends the ASP program now run by the Y, you must have a late arrival form on file with them in order for your child to participate. If you have any questions regarding the forms, please contact Ms. Kim who directs the program at Clinton.

Dismissal is at 3:45pm and we ask that you enter through the front door of the school and proceed to your child’s classroom to sign them out. There will be a sign posted at the front listing the class locations as well as proctors to help direct you. Please make sure that the person signing out your child is someone that you listed on your registration form.

If your child attends the ASP program at Clinton, they will be escorted as a group back to Ms. Kim at the ASP program in the cafeteria.

If you have any questions please contact Erica Dussman.

Proctoring Help Needed for After School Enrichment

Posted April 15th, 2011 by PTA

Our wildly popular After School Enrichment Program serves approximately 160 children per session. The program, which is organized and run by the Clinton PTA, can use a few extra proctoring hands for the spring session (which runs on Thursdays, from 2:35 to
3:45 pm until May 26th).

If you are free to help for one, or two, or even three Thursdays please let us know. Proctors help kindergartners through the attendance process, keep order in the gym during attendance taking, make sure all the students get to where they need to be, check in on classes to see if any assistance is needed, and make sure that every child is safely picked up by parents/guardians.

Our students love Enrichment so watching it in action is also a fun and rewarding experience.

If you are able to devote some time to help proctor, please contact Jenny Tate jenniferlynnetate@yahoo.com

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Reminder: After School Enrichment Starts Tomorrow, October 7.

Posted October 6th, 2010 by PTA

The fall session of the PTA After School Enrichment Program begins tomorrow.

If your child is registered in the program, please remind her/him that Thursday is the first day.

Here are some other important reminders:

1. At 2:35 dismissal all Enrichment students go to the gym for attendance. Their teacher will give them a name tag that identifies their Enrichment class to facilitate the attendance process on the first day. They will line up behind a cone/sign that identifies their Enrichment class and their Enrichment teacher will take attendance and then bring the group to their Enrichment classroom.

If your child regularly attends the ASP program in our cafeteria, he/ she MUST report their FIRST and have their attendance taken by ASP staff. He/she can then come to the gym for Enrichment attendance.

2. Please remind your children that the same rules that apply during the school day, apply during Enrichment.

3. Enrichment classes end promptly at 3:45. You must enter the building through the main entrance and sign your child out from their Enrichment class. Classroom location was listed on your confirmation letter and our proctors will also be able to give you that information when you arrive. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE FOR PICK-UP. This program is run entirely by parent volunteers and lateness creates inconvenience for them and anxiety for the children involved. If you are late to pick up your child twice during the session, we will have to remove the child from the program.

4. We have twelve wonderful classes lined up for this session and an enrollment of 170 children. We’re looking forward to a fabulous eight weeks!

Help Needed – This Thursday 10/7

Posted October 5th, 2010 by PTA

We’ve only had one response to our request for help for the first 2-3
weeks of our fall after school enrichment program. It will take less than an hour of your time on each of those days and with 170 children in the program, we can really use some extra hands to guide the littlest students through the attendance process the first couple of weeks.
Please contact Jenny Tate if you can help beginning this Thursday,
October 7th.

HERE IS ORIGINAL EMAIL WITH MORE INFO
We have four wonderful, experienced proctors for our PTA Fall
After School Enrichment session, but due to the large amount of
kindergartners who have enrolled this fall, we need some extra help
on the first few Thursdays.

We usually pick up the youngest students in their classrooms and
escort them to the gym for attendance for the
first few weeks until they get the hang of it. There are cones in the
gym with class names and they line up behind the cones. On the first
day they are wearing name tags with their names and the name of the
class they are taking to facilitate the process.

The program serves approximately 150 students each session (300 per
year),
so we have many students entering the gym for attendance and the first
few weeks,
until they know where to go and can easily identify their Enrichment
teacher, the more help we have, the better.

Please let us know if you can assist us for the first few Thursdays.
It would mean arriving at school at around 2:00 on the first day (2:20
on subsequent days) and staying until approximately 2:50 pm. You are
also welcome to stay for the entire time and help with classroom
monitoring, etc.
