Time to collect

Posted March 5th, 2010 by PTA

The 2nd Annual Clinton School Readathon came to close on Tuesday, March 2.

We hope your child enjoyed the reading challenge.

You can now collect money from the sponsors who pledged and return payments, pledge sheet, and reading log to the Clinton PTA.
Don’t worry if you haven’t kept good track on the reading log, as long as you can give your sponsors the information they need to send payment.

Please be sure any checks are made out to the Clinton PTA and have a phone number on them.

Everyone who returns a pledge form (whether they collected money or not) will be entered in our raffle to win one of three gift certificates to a local bookstore. The raffle winners will be announced on Monday, March 22nd during morning announcements.

Please return pledge forms and check by Tuesday, March 16th.

Thanks for participating. Last year’s Readathon enabled us to purchase more than $2,500 worth of new books for our library. We’ll keep you posted on this year’s results.

Weekly Roundup

Posted February 5th, 2010 by PTA

It was a very busy week for backpack flyers, so we thought we’d provide an end of week summary of the various items that were sent home and a few other messages.

1. It’s time for our 2010 Readathon. 100% of money raised goes directly to the purchase of new books for the Clinton School library.
All details, pledge sheet, and reading log can be found on the Flyers and Forms page.

2. Author Suzy Kline of Horrible Harry fame will be visiting Clinton during the school day on February 26th. To order autographed copies of Ms. Kline’s books, visit the Flyers and Forms page.

There is also a form for a chance for your 3rd-5th grade child to enter a contest to win the chance to have lunch with Ms. Kline during her visit.

3. Our student government’s annual candygram fundraiser is also underway. Pink flyers were sent home this week. This year all proceeds will be donated to the Haitian relief effort. February 10th is the last day to send in candygram orders.

4. Rehearsals for our all school musical revue are well underway and they’re going great! Volunteer parents and student performers are hard at work. Please remember to check the show website for all updated information, dates, and paperwork.

5. The Parenting Center has some great events coming up.
Author and psychologist Jeb Baker will give a talk entitled “No More Meltdowns” at Tuscan School on February 18th.

The Parenting Center is also hosting Lice Information night on February 11th at Clinton School. Please check out the details:

It’s also time for the Parenting Center’s winter workshops.

As always, there is a lot going on at Clinton and throughout the district. We hope you will be able to participate in or attend some of these programs/events.

It’s Time for the Clinton PTA Readathon!

Posted February 3rd, 2010 by PTA

The Clinton PTA Readathon will directly benefit the Clinton School Library. All funds raised will be used to purchase new books for our much-loved, much-used school library. Thanks to your participation last year, we were able to purchase $2,500 worth of brand new books for our library. The 2010 Readathon begins on Monday, February 8th and ends on Tuesday, March 2nd. The Readathon also complements the other PTA sponsored pro-reading events this season, including Storytelling Night (which took place on January 28th) and our author visit with Suzy Kline (scheduled for February 26th).

The materials that were sent home on blue paper have all the details and forms.

Thanks, as always, for your support!
