Posted February 19th, 2013 by PTA

Dear Families-

An e-mail was sent recently notifying you of a special meeting of the Board of Education (BOE) to discuss the 2013-2014 budget. In addition to that workshop meeting on Wednesday, February 20th, there will be a series of BOE meetings and other legislative activity on the topic. A schedule of those dates is below. BOE meetings are held at 7:30pm at 525 Academy Street and broadcast on SOMA TV (visit link for your cable provider channels, http://somatv.org/). In the event the broadcast is interrupted, the meetings will also be live-streamed at http://somatv.pegstream.com/.

Thank you.

The deleveling proposal

The recommendations have been made.

There are two good articles covering the proposal on Patch and The Local.

Of specific interest for Clinton was the recommendation that the 4th grade enrichment program be expanded next year to include all the 4th grade students. The program was piloted at South Mountain this year.

In case you missed it…

Last night at the BOE meeting, the paraprofessionals read a letter to the Board regarding the outsourcing of their positions, their role in the classroom, and why many of them will not return.
