Special Education Parent Advisory Committees (SEPAC) are required for all school districts in New Jersey. The purpose of these groups is to provide opportunities for parents and community members to offer input into their district’s special education programs.

The flyer is for an organizational meeting for a South Orange Maplewood SEPAC to be held on Tuesday, April 24th at 7:30 pm.

Some parents and guardians have asked how the implementation of IB-MYP in the middle schools and changes to academic placement in the middle schools and high school may impact students with special needs. The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss this with administrators and school leaders.

A reminder from the South Orange Maplewood Presidents’ Council.

Please don’t forget to vote in the Board of Education election on Tuesday, April 17th, from 2 to 9 pm, and remind your friends and neighbors. There are six candidates running for three seats and it is important to make your voice heard. By our calculations, if 2,000 people vote (which is more than the usual turnout), each voter represents approximately $60,000 of our total school budget. Your opinion matters so get to the polls on Tuesday. There are very few situations in which your vote has more weight!

Get Ready for the Clinton Float!

For the fourth year in a row, Clinton is building a float for the Memorial Day Parade. We need your help to make it another smashing success! Mark your calendars for our float-building days:

Once again, this is a green project, so please help us gather materials. There will be a drop-off box inside the school entrance. We are collecting:

Newspapers
Plastic newspaper bags (any color)
Pizza boxes
