Help Needed for Teacher Appreciation Luncheon

Posted April 20th, 2012 by PTA

Can you help with the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon?

On Wednesday, May 2nd at 2:40 pm, during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 1-4 ), the PTA will host our annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon in the Clinton School Library. Would you be willing to help by preparing a dish or donating money for supplies?

If you can bring a dish, please contact Patty O’Connell or Janet Trzaska and let us know what you will be bringing. All kinds of dishes are welcome, from appetizers to desserts to beverages. Monetary donations can be sent to school in care of the PTA. Please mark “for teacher luncheon.”

When you reply, please be sure to give us your email address so we can contact you about delivery instructions for that day. Also, let us know if you are free to volunteer to help set up and clean up the lunch that day (from approximately 1:30 until 4:30). Thanks in advance for your help!

Mayhem Poets Assembly

Posted April 19th, 2012 by PTA

REMINDER: Mayhem Poets Assembly on Friday, April 20th
The Clinton Elementary School PTA is delighted to welcome the Mayhem Poets to our school! Celebrate the power of language with Mayhem poets, a trio of theatrically trained spoken word artists and violinists who seamlessly blend elements of hip hop, theater, improvisation, and stand-up comedy. Simultaneously witty and wise, they use powerful words and performance to deal head-on with emotions and issues relevant to today’s young people. They take audiences on “an amazing ride,” say The New York Times. They will perform assemblies on Friday, April 20th at 8:30 and 9:30 AM. Parents are welcome and should sit in the balcony.

Vote Tomorrow/April 17th

Posted April 16th, 2012 by PTA

A reminder from the South Orange Maplewood Presidents’ Council.

Please don’t forget to vote in the Board of Education election on Tuesday, April 17th, from 2 to 9 pm, and remind your friends and neighbors. There are six candidates running for three seats and it is important to make your voice heard. By our calculations, if 2,000 people vote (which is more than the usual turnout), each voter represents approximately $60,000 of our total school budget. Your opinion matters so get to the polls on Tuesday. There are very few situations in which your vote has more weight!
