Clinton PTA Hosts Reception for Paraprofessionals

The Clinton PTA is hosting an after-school reception to honor our paraprofessionals, but we need your help.

Can you donated baked goods? Can you help set up/clean up?

Can you come to express your gratitude for everything these wonderful people have done for our children?

Date: Wednesday, June 9th
Time: 2:35 pm to 3:15 pm
Place: Clinton School Library

Field Day Volunteers Needed

Mr. Lehman and Ms. Freede are getting ready for Field Day!

We always need parent help during this day of fun activities, so if you can spare some time, please let Ms. Freede know. She can be contacted at jfreede@somsd.k12.nj.us

There are a few separate Field Day sessions:

FIELD DAY for Kindergarten and Aspire will be on June 2nd (Wednesday) from 1:15-2:30.
We need about 8-10 volunteers to help run stations

FIELD DAY for Grades 1-2 and Ms. Byron’s class will be on June 3rd from 10-11:45 AM

FIELD DAY for Grades 3, 4, 5 and Ms. Konzelman’s class will be at 1:00-2:30.

We need about 10 volunteers for each section.
Each volunteer will be assigned a station to run.

School District Satisfaction Survey

REMINDER: the School District of South Orange and Maplewood is conducting a survey to determine how satisfied you are with the quality of education the district provides to your students.

Please take a moment to share your thoughts by answering the following questions. Your responses will be anonymous and help us direct our efforts by letting us know what you think our strengths are and what you suggest we improve upon.

Please complete one survey for each school your children attend.

Please complete the survey by Friday, May 28, 2010.

Some people have inquired as to the meaning of ELA in Question 3.
Those three letters stand for English Language Arts. Sorry for the confusion.

Send attractive cards inscribed with your child’s personal message to a teacher, librarian, nurse, guidance counselor…any staff member at any South Orange & Maplewood District school. For a donation of $5 or more per card, you can place an order with the South Orange-Maplewood Education Foundation (SOMEF-soon to be known as the ACHIEVE Foundation), and they’ll deliver your tribute cards to staff members by June 15. Come March in the Memorial Day Parade!

March with Clinton School in the Memorial Day Parade, Monday, May 31!

Our theme this year is “Clinton Celebrates Diversity,” and we have a fabulous new float!

We will
assemble at the Columbia High School Student Parking Lot at 8:15 AM.
Every child must be accompanied by an adult.
One adult can take responsibility for more than one child, but children may NOT be dropped off alone at the point of assembly.
Please wear a Clinton School shirt, or a red shirt.

2010-2011 Pre-packaged Supply Kits

School supply kits for next year can be pre-ordered now. Order by June 2nd. Kits will be ready for pick-up on September 2 at 4pm in the cafeteria.
