Enrichment update
Posted Tuesday, March 16, 2010 by PTA.
Confirmation letters for the spring session of the After School Enrichment program will go out at the end of this week.
There are still a few spots left (So You Wanna Be A Star, Japanese Language and Culture, Trash Art, Amazing Science B for 3rd-5th Graders, Stories and Crafts, and Running Club for 3rd to 5th grade girls), but we cannot take registration forms later than Wednesday, March 17th.
Please understand that a few of the classes are so popular that we receive many, many
more applications on the first couple of days of registration than there are spots in those classes. In those cases we must use a lottery system to fill the spots. For this session, this is the case with Cooking, Games Mr. Lehman Plays, and Amazing Science A.
You’ll notice that we now offer two cooking and science classes to try and meet the demand but there is only one Mr. Lehman!
Also, many people sent in registration forms without a second choice.
In these cases, by the time we get in touch with you to see if your child might like another option, the other classes are likely to be filled too.
If your child was closed out of both of their choices you will receive an email from us listing other options. If your child only listed one choice and that class is full, you, too, will receive an email indicating where spots are still open and asking if they would like to be in one of those classes.
If your child gets closed out of a class they really want more than once, you can indicate this on your registration form. We will look at the registration forms from the last two sessions to check and we will do our best to place the child in that class.
We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding the Enrichment program. It serves upward of 150 students per session and is run completely by volunteers.
